I am directed by the Governor to draw your

attention to the fact that it has been reported to Government that the greater portion of the audit of the Treasury and General Post Office Accounts, is under the system at present in force entrusted to a Portuguese Clerk in your Department. This is a reversion to the system adopted previous to the institution of the audit by the Comptroller and Auditor-General and I am, therefore, to request that you will furnish for His Excellency's information any remarks on the subject that you may

desire to make.
